What to Expect...

It is never easy to visit a new church for the first time so we want to be as helpful as we can to make your experience a good one. There are convenient parking spaces reserved for our guests near the main entrances on either side of the church.  Before each service there are greeters at the main entrances who will help you find your way around the church.  They will also give you a worship/announcement packet with several pages of information about the worship services for the day, announcements pertaining to ministry activities and events, and a sermon outline.

Our Worship Services
We offer 3 worship services each Sunday.
These times are set aside for communicating with God from our hearts.
The 8:00 service is of a more traditional style, with hymns accompanied by the organ and piano, as well as the choir or orchestra on designated weeks.
The 9:30 and 11:00 services are more contemporary. We have live, upbeat worship with guitars, drums -the works, as well as more intimate songs of worship.
Everyone worships in their own unique way – for many, that means singing & clapping, and for others it means quietly reflecting on the words. You’re welcome to do whatever makes you feel most comfortable.

What to Wear
Let's talk about dress. A few people dress up, but most people choose to dress down and come casual. Come the way that you feel most comfortable, but please wear modest clothing that will allow everyone to keep their eyes focused on Jesus.

Nursery and Children's Worship
We offer a nursery during each of the services and a Children's worship time during the 11:00 sermon time.  We provide a secure environment for your child's safety.  There are two adults in all classrooms and two hall monitors.  We have a pager notification system so that parent's of small children can have peace of mind during the service.   You will be notified if anything should happen where your help is needed.  The child will only be released to the parent or guardian who has the pager.

The Message (sermon)
Every weekend, you will hear a relevant, straightforward message that is based on Scripture and is designed to be helpful in your everyday life. We trust that these messages will help you develop a growing, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and provide a strong biblical foundation for your life.  Sermon notes are provided with blanks to be filled in from the Pastor's PowerPoint outline on the screen.

The Offering
Each week there is a time to worship God through the giving of tithes and offerings. As a guest, please do not feel any pressure to give. This is an act of worship for our regular attenders, allowing them to thank God for all of the great work he is doing in their lives. It also gives Mt Pleasant Church the means to reach more people for Christ in the future.

Cafe
There is a cafe where you can have delicious coffee, hot tea, and snacks between the 9:30 and 11:00 services.

Communion
Once a quarter, we celebrate communion together. Anyone can participate in this time of reflection and prayer – as long they’ve made the decision to follow Jesus Christ. The juice and bread that we share represent the life He gave up so that our sins could be forgiven.

After the service:

Visit the Welcome Center
As a guest, you'll be asked to fill out a Connection Card during the service. Everyone fills out a card and passes them to the center for the ushers, or drops it in the offering plate. Stop by the Welcome Center following the message and pick up a free gift bag.

Have some coffee
Hang out for a while and have some coffee, tea, and snacks in the cafe located just outside of the multi-purpose room.
